How to Get Rid of Dandruff: 7 Steps Dermatologists Recommend

TonicNest card titled How to Get Rid of Dandruff, noting that about 50% of adults get dandruff, with a subtitle on the five shampoo actives that work

To get rid of dandruff, use a shampoo with zinc pyrithione, selenium sulfide, ketoconazole, salicylic acid or coal tar. Lather it into the scalp, leave it on for up to 5 to 10 minutes, and use it at least twice a week, then about once a week to keep flakes away. Ketoconazole has the strongest trial record. See a doctor if nothing changes in 2 to 4 weeks.

Do Collagen Supplements Work? What Independent Trials Show

TonicNest card titled Do Collagen Supplements Work, with the subtitle what independent trials found on skin, joints and bone

Collagen supplements show small gains in skin elasticity, hydration and wrinkles when all trials are pooled, but a 2025 review of 23 trials found no effect in studies without company funding. Short-term joint pain relief is possible, with very low quality evidence. Sunscreen and strength training have stronger support, and third-party testing matters more than marine or multi-type labels.

Pay for doses, not for adjectives.
